Listened to this at the gym tonight, and want to listen to it again when I am not distracted by trying to do Samson impressions. The freedom just keeps getting pumped out.

Oh God, the Boundaries book. I actually thought the book was good when I read it about 5 or 6 years ago. For someone in an abusive relationship it would be very useful.

However, at the last church I attended some of the leaders were *really* into the boundaries teaching, and used it to justify pushing away anyone whose behavior or beliefs they deemed a threat, and always with a question about the person's mental health. I wasn't too surprised when one person from that group eventually pushed me away and said my embracing the love message was "unhealthy".

Yeah, I'll take a life without boundaries, thanks.

I'm glad you covered the not sinning bondage. How can you be in freedom when focused on sin. Even the grace of God teaches us to deny worldly lusts. It's hard to experience grace when looking in the wrong direction. Sometimes just by on purpose changing are focus we experience the grace that is always present. Maybe that's real repentance? just a thought.

funny thing for me is that in the last year or so the Boundaries book has helped me (more specifically the prequel to that book - Changes that Heal) ... i had no interest in that book for years but as a person with little or no boundaries and lack of bonding it has helped me alot in this past year or two - though i do discern out any 'churchy' talk the authors wrote it from within....

Oh I'm so here. MY husband and I have a good friend that I can sense has is under so much condemnation and bondage. I reach out to him with encouragement and try to share with him the freedom I've found. I'm not sure how much as sank in but it's still being giving. Reassuring him of Father's love or what ever small bit of truth and light I can share I feel is worth it. And I sit and wait and hope and pray He'll get it!

Just listened to both podcasts about protecting freedom as a free believer. It is so easy to drift back to a freedom-robbing set of dos and donts. Thanks guys for making us all aware of that. We need not just to know that we are free but stay in it - like Paul was trying to get through to the Galatians.
Thank you both so much for addressing this.
