Darin, Kim and Aimee talk about learning to measure your walk in the wild without using the old institutional scales of the past. The is a great topic for people who judge their “prayer life” and their “spiritual growth” on a daily basis, but constantly feel like they are a million miles behind the rest of the crowd because they are not living up to the expectations of what they’ve been taught in the past. Living in the wild requires an entirely different mindset and mentality that simply cannot be measured or weighed by the old institutinal standards.

I remember one man telling me that my purpose in life is to be compared to a flower. I am there to be beautiful and admired by God. No other reason. My existence is to be loved and adored by Him and no other reason. A flower doesn't have to take time to avert its attention to me. It is what it is and fulfills its purpose naturally regardless of what it does. Anything else I choose to do is because of the sheer joy of it. This simple truth set me free.
I had a friend ask me how my walk with God was the other day. I had no idea how to answer. I have no words for that kind of question anymore.
Honestly, I don't know if it just where I'm at in my journey, but this is the best podcast yet! I felt myself just taking a deep breath, sighing, and relaxing. Darin, what you said is so true, that we measure our relationship with God sometimes by how we are feeling personally about ourselves, or life. I am fully drinking in this message!Freedom, you gotta love it!
Thanks Martha.
Thanks for a great podcast folks! Measuring rod of spirituality...? Behaviors we have seen and heard 'in church,' but didn't realize what a snare it would become. At least in my own case. Thanks again. Darin, I'm driving from Virginia to Phoenix in February for the gathering. Is it possible to put up a "travel connections" link somewhere on FBN in case someone else needs a ride, or doesn't fly? We still have plenty of time to make such connections...thanks!
