Good stuff, guys! The real deal! "The heart thing: it's caught, not taught... If you love the kids it will outweigh everything else... If I adore my children and love their mom, it covers over every screw-up... the only way to teach your kids heart is to have heart." 'Nuff said.
You guys are a riot! But then it sounds like you are living in the middle of one. I remember when my four boys were pre-school age. Absence of noise was a sign of some kind of pending disaster, as in 'the calm before the storm'. Either that or someone found the grownups candy stash.
Yes, silence usually means someone is doing something very bad. I've also found that a rise in laughter usually is the sound you hear just before a big bang, followed by loud crying.
Truer words have never been uttered, Darin. :)
I liked how you guys were doing the podcast and all of a sudden in the background you could hear someone start playing with the piano keys. That was funny/cute.
This had a lot of good parenting stuff that isn't just for guys. As a stay at home mom I have to fight against the urge to pacify the kids with the TV on a regular basis!
"...the purpose of this podcast is to re-introduce what I believe is the biblical need for concubines..." Priceless!
there is nothing more beautiful than the sound of happy children ;-)
A special gift for all the dads out there: go to http://manbabies.com/. And...wear a diaper...
Really great guys! It never ceases to amaze me the archaic ideas some men have about fatherhood and being a husband. I find I actually have to be quiet when I get together with other women and the subject turns to husbands. My hubby is just too great and I have no reason to gripe. An equal partner who understands that without him our son would not have come into the world. Who understands that loving his wife is loving his son. Seems basic but it's shockingly rare. It sounds like you have wonderful families and are really sweet husbands. It's good to hear other men out there that "get it".
