MIDWEEK- Misconceptions About The Bible part 2

bibleDarin, Brian and Robert enter into a discussion about Christians and the modern day teachings on the bible. This is an open discussion with no rules. Anything can be asked and all opinions and feelings about the topic are be voiced unashamedly. This is perhaps one of the most open and radical “Into the Wild” shows that’s been recorded to date. We encourage you to send this to your friends who are struggling with the same questions. Many Christians in our world today and severely oppressed by the churches teachings on the bible’s role in their life. This is perhaps the most abused and abusive topic in the Christian world today.

Dudes - you rock. I love that this is the exact stuff I always knew my whole life (and CLEAR as day as a kid), but then was put in bondage by the church setting, in their attempt to "help me understand God and scriptures." We get it as children, then told we don't understand yet and have to go through the churching process in order to....become like a little child! Crazy, isn't it?

Really interesting points you have made. It reminds me of something my pastor says. "The bible is valuable, but not all of it is applicable." Great podcast guys.

I'm not really sure what all the hub-bub is all about regarding the scriptures in that they point to Him! Trying to qualify-disqualify the "right ones from the erroneous ones" in my opinion simply distract us from once again Who they point to. I love the thought that everything in the scriptures was written for us, but not to us!!

“everything in the scriptures was written for us, but not to us!!’ Richard, I no longer believe that’s true. I believe we can learn from what was written. However, what was written in the Bible was written for those to whom it was addressed and not to us.

This reminds me of the chapter in Pagan Christianity about the compilation of the Bible. Good stuff guys, thanks :-)
