Darin and Robert talk about the undying need for hope in the life of the believer, and how we’ve been sidetracked and fooled into believing that it’s of little or no value. They discuss what has happened to our modern day understanding of hope and how it’s been torn away from the hearts of people who need it for survival in the wild. All things in life can be endured and conquered through the towing power of hope. However, when the tow line of hope is severed by religious manipulation, we become like a ship without sails. All direction and purpose is lost. Motivation, inspiration and determination take their last breath and fade away. The lifestyle of love causes us to spend a lifetime reattaching the hope lines to the hearts of hurting individuals and towing them towards the Father.

What a beautiful thing. Hope. Loving others, and being more truly caring, forgiving and loving was what truly set me free. The look in other peoples eyes when they realize that you REALLY do care is so wonderful. They come alive! THEY begin to hope! You are guys are beautiful. The power of Hope helps people start living again. Thank you for giving me hope, and allowing me to learn how to attach hope lines to others.

This podcast was awesome. I never knew what hope was. I don't feel like it is a license to sin, it makes you love Him more and not care about doing crappy stuff. You just want to hang out as close to Him as you can. Thanks for all the honesty and HOPE.
You guys need to talk more on this. I can't tell you how much this is speaking to me. Both my wife and I feel like we've been reduced to this quivering pile of flesh and after listening to this I realize that we've lost that hope rope you two were talking about. I know I've gotten this stuff through and through but at this time in our lives we feel like all hope is lost. Listening to you guys talk about hope just really nailed me big time.
I totally understand how you feel Daniel.
I think that was your best podcast yet
If you ask my wife, there are certain songs that turn me into a crybaby. Now I am a big guy and can look intimidating. But there are certain songs or even certain messages that reduce me to a puddle of tears. Those would be the ones about Heaven or the second coming. Every time I hear this stuff my heart literally snaps into a place of deep longing almost indescribable. My wife asked me one time I was crying at a certain song and I told her that it is because this world has gotten so evil and so dark that my hope is in His return. She felt so much closer to me at that moment. It is this hope that keeps me going and that I know I can face whatever the devil and the world can throw at me.

That is great David. My wife died of liver cancer in November at 53 , and the hope that I have is not only that she is finally at home with the Father, but I will soon join her. This beautiful hope that you just described, that Darin wrote about in his book, and talked about here, is what has carried me through.
I felt hopeful just reading the description of the podcast and the comments. I hope that I will enjoy the podcast:)
One of my facebook friends is feeling upset and confused about God. She put "atheist" on her page, mostly to get religious people off her back. A "grace pastor" said to her - you were a believer, so why would you renounce Jesus, because now you're going to hell. Even though this person - at least I think so - would say once saved always saved. Belief really is quite a subjective term if you think about it. I can't see how God would abandon us just because we struggle to believe sometimes. Wouldn't you agree?
Darin & Robert, Can't tell you guys how amazing this talk was. Thank you. You spoke right where my heart has been. It's something I've been dealing with for a while now. You guys have given me new hope.
That means a lot to us Justin. Thanks for the encouragement. Tessie I TOTALLY agree. God isn't intimidated by our struggles to believe. He is able to sympathize with our weaknesses because He made Himself human, and went through it Himself:-) When you think about living in our generation it almost makes me wonder if believing isn't under a unique and deadly attack that previous generations never knew. For them it was about believing He exists or He doesn't. For us, it's a battle to believe what kind of a person He is because we've been told so many contradicting lies that have nothing to do with Him or His heart. It's hard to know WHAT to believe on any given day because most of us aren't even sure He likes us anymore.
