That was DEEP (even if you disagree Daren). I have listened three times and am SO EXCITED. I knew I was loved, but I sometimes wondered or found it difficult to believe. The two of you put so much across, so clearly, I feel flames of fire jumping inside. God is using you and Wayne Jacobson to open my eyes, my ears and my heart in a way I have never experienced before. MORE PLEASE. Thank you so much.

Yes! This is what I'm SAYING!! The whole behavioral measurement thing is so frustrating and false - if we're doing the "religious thing" we totally miss the individual and God too - since He looks on the heart He is rarely EVER "working on" what we THINK He should be working on in an individual because we're only looking at these outer lists of standards and oh how much we miss!! Here our Father is, massaging our broken hearts and bringing us back to life with mouth to mouth resusitation and "religion" dares to come along and reduce His immense, intense, intimate involvement and has the audacity to instead endeavor to hold us "accountable" to whatever the particular denominational focus or list of convictions humanity has come up with. I love this word picture Aimee of the fish suspended in water - because being suspended in His grace is exactly what this new life is like and I so struggle for words to explain what I'm experiencing. Thank you!

Is it me or does anyone else find there is a huge disconnect between Jesus"s life and teachings and Pauls writings. The church built religion thru Paul"s system.I know this because since I throttled back on bible research and study and instead focused my prayers on Christ and knowing him more and more each day,Ive felt and experience Gods love as my Father in a way that was unbelievable. But I had to consistly every morning go after it in prayer.I don"t know about anyone else here but I spent more time in prayer just to get rid of the fog of sytematic church teachings than I ever had to focus on my "personal walk with the Lord" or what sins were plagueing me.The reality for me was to focus on the cross and making sure I concsiously everyday realized that Iam dead but ALIVE in Christ.I prayed for this literally without ceasing and within a short period of time the truth came flooding in.Now if I can suggest without sounding like I have all the answers, I could care less about past

One last thought and I"ll shut up.90% of the time were right on track.Make no mistake if we only take one step in the right direction God will pull us thru to him.We just don"t realize it because its truth and we"ve been brainwashed to not understand uts that simple. One step of faith with our hand out to Jesus.Iam outta here.

^It's not just you. Paul's writings contradicted Jesus quite a bit.

These last few years my husband and I have just spent a lot of time dwelling in and on the "red letters" in the Gospels and that has really helped cleanse away a lot of . . . confusion, misguided teachings, sense of condemnation. I think Paul has some good things to say but honestly some folks seem to look to Paul as the final word on Jesus - pretty sure it should be the other way around. Some people are so dedicated to Paul's writings I've thought they should just call themselves "Paulinians" - also pretty sure Paul wouldn't have wanted that.

Loved the discussion. Suspended by grace...it is just that isn't it? If the Lord pulled His grace off of us for 1 hour we would then know we are suspended by grace. We will never know the feeling.

Darin. can't wait to read the blogs dude, they mean so much to me.

I read the book Love Wins 4 times now. Love it. Love it. You are right Amy, the rabbit hole questioning gets a little nutty, but so true.
The Rob Bell interviewers name was Martin Bashir on CNN, the dude was rude. What was sadder though is the comments Christians made under the you tube video about Bell. It is like we eat our own like cannibals. Sad. But if Bell was to write a book about we are all screwed and going to hell if we even sneeze wrong, he would be lauded... amazing.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but Aimee's analogy of the fish, the water, and fish out of water was one of the most profound things I've heard in a long time. What an incredible picture of Grace! Thanks Aimee!

Great podcast. Enjoyed Rob Bell's book too. Also enjoyed "Her Gates Will Never Be Shut - Hope, Hell and the New Jerusalem" by Bradley Jersak. A bit difficult to get through but another way of looking at it all. Specially interesting to have it pointed out how the wicked get from "the lake of fire" in Rev 20 to "outside the gates" of the New Jerusalem in Rev 22 just before the invitation for whoever wishes and is thirsty to take of the free gift of the water of life. Seems to me like what we were always told is the end is not the end at all. I wanted to look into the "hell" thing more because people I love are so tormented by it, and I had no idea what to say to them. I think such reading has helped me be able to talk more intelligently, though I still have no final answers. I love the idea though of focusing on hope. Call myself a "hopeful possibilityist".

Also amazes me that people question Rob Bell's Christianity because of whether or not he believes in eternal torture in hell! Did not think it was necessary to put our faith in eternal hell torture! Thought Christianity was about Christ. You can be a Christian and have all sorts of diverse(even whacky)ideas about a miriad of other topics apparently, but don't question eternal hell! How strange!
