Another great podcast. I've regularly had "supernatural" experiences -- both good and bad -- for much of my life, and it's something I've gotten used to. I started noticing a few years ago that the intensity of what I referred to as "demonic attacks" were directly related to my reaction to them. The more I ignore them, the less bite they have.

I still have incidents, but instead of praying or rebuking Satan in the name of Jesus, I usually just roll my eyes and go on. In my opinion, the devil is more like an annoying, yapping little dog; he can't do a damn thing to me, and I don't worry about him.

When I hear people pray to bind satan, or say they're under attack, I think it cheapen's God's power in their lives. They're doing a disservice to Jesus and all that He has done for them. They're basically saying that satan has enough power to occupy the same space as God.

I couldn't agree more with the things said on this podcast! I searched high and low, in every closet, and under every rug for areas in my life where satan had a grasp because there was something missing, and I thought if I could just find the spot, things would finally get better for me. And the I.C. was more than happy to "assist" me in my pursuits.

The thing that was missing the entire time had nothing to do with the devil, and everything to do with God's love. Once it soaked in deep that I'm loved, the devil and the pursuit of looking under every rock came to a screeching halt, and I haven't looked back since. There is not a war to be won, it is finished. Just accept it. :)

...in addition, I'd like to comment about Kirk Cameron and his partner in crime, Ray Comfort. An acquantence from the old I.C. send me a video link of Ray doing his thing. Ray managed to put the Holocaust, Abortion, and Witnessing all into one basket. Most of the time I rolled my eyes thinking, "same ol'", but then Ray made a comment that made me gasp. This poor young lady who was being manipulated by Ray's fear mongering, when asked why God should let her into heaven said, "I'm a good person, I have a good heart, and God sees my heart." Ray responded, "Yes, the heart of a liar, thief, and adulterer." He said it so casually it made me sick. Shame on Ray!

Lastly, Darin, great imitation of Copeland! LOL

...Sorry a couple more thoughts. Are you saved? Then be saved! God saved you, and to say that the devil has any kind of foothold in your life is to say God didn't have enough power to save you all the way. You're partially saved?

Are you born again? Or do you have to be born over and over and over again? God gave you a chance for rebirth. How many times does He have to deliver you? Just one time, and it is finished.

Don't give the devil credit for anything, good or bad.

Wow! Something I did not know about you Darin. So you like older females. Well that is your preference. After all when it comes to love it does not matter how old you and your partner are. So as long as you two care that is good. ^_^

As to the reason why people are drawn to fear I heard there are people who do in fact enjoy being scarred. They like the thrill of it. Plus I heard there was a study that shows that it’s actually heather to be scare. Apparently it has the same affects as being happy. But this test was done for people who watch scary movies. Plus even if that is the case it’s not good to be scared all the time.

Same with the issue of some Christians not thinking people who do not believe the bible is 100% historically accurate to be saved.

As for concerning those commercials for those horror movies it’s one thing if they are advertising these movies on children networks (because yes that would be wrong) but when it’s on other channels it just your children being there at the wrong time.

As for concerning the fact people think there are demons it’s like Shinto Religion or Greek mythology in the sense except it’s demons that represent something instead of gods. It just reminded me of those two topics since like those Christians who think there is a demon for everything the Greeks and Japanese thought there were Gods that represented something. Also as for concerning about Satan I did hear there was a time he use to work for God. When you take that into consideration and the fact that God loved all his angels God must have felt sad for how things turn out between the two which therefore does make it inappropriate for people to make remarks like what you mention.

And yes ! it lasts a LONG time !!! And I also was plagued with that for YEARS and it was often. It was so bad I had a LOT of trouble sleeping because I was afraid to go to sleep!!! You're the only other person I know that had that !!! I'd tell people and they'd look at me like I was insane!!! THANK YOU for telling that !!!

I've met many people over the years who have described the same experience. My brother had it happen to him all the time. I've learned that it's more FEAR then anything.

Suggestion: if you guys would entertain the preterist approach to Christ judgement coming (which is hard when you come from a Pentecostal background, paradigm shift needed), that He spiritually came again to complete the New Covenant, to judge the Old Covenant and do away with it, in and around the events of A.D. 70, and that the passages don't lead to Jesus physically showing up again 2000 years and counting after the writings, and then start a series of 7 yr events, and 1000 year events, and end of the world and 'do over' events, you could do away with this whole futurist climactic events stuff, a devil that will have to be defeated, etc. Unfortunately, the church today has been led to believe something that wasn't a part of Christian faith prior to the 1840s with a guy and his followers named Darby. Again, hard to do when your perspectives are rooted in Pentacostalism. I believe we are on common ground when we realize it ain't the devil making me do it, it's giving into my flesh.

James says resist and the devil will flee our mind either accepts or rejects the thought,we either bring it to Christ for obedience and captivity WE make that descsion I would rather spend my time time in prayer with the Lord and let him reveal himself to me than waste two seconds thinking about the devil, what a total waste of time.Your right he made an open spectacle of that gang of liars

I think this is one of those life tests where the proof is in the pudding. I know I am one of many who went through the most trouble, anxiety and fear of their lives DURING the time they were in the place that supposedly had the cure. With such a glaringly obvious connection, you'd think we'd all wake up and learn even faster than we do.

I remember being in church when I was young and seeing "demons cast out"...by my dad! It was very frightening and put a fear in me that lasted well into my adulthood. I would scream in my sleep to wake myself up from nightmares and I was always afraid of demons. And yes, I prayed desperately to Jesus to keep me safe. No more. Do I still think there are evil spirits out there? Yes. Am I afraid of them? No.
