The Relief Project Part 3, Leveling The Playing Field

Darin and Hans discuss the pitfalls that cause Pastors to separate themselves from the people they are leading and how easy it is to fall victim to them. The religious system of today is setup in a way that makes it nearly impossible to connect on a personal level with anyone when you are a Pastor.

This conversation reminds me of the comment God made to Israel when bringing them out of Egypt: I bore you on eagles' wings. The only time that happens is when it is time for the young to leave the nest. The eagle carries it to a great height, drops it, and swoops under it to catch it before it hits the ground. This keeps happening until the young one figures out how to fly and no longer needs to be caught.

I believe that we are all on our own journey and we are on different paths. Everybody sees things differently and has a different perspective on things, it should be love that unites our path. I think that for my experience in the wild I have seen the importance of an individual personal relationship with God. I feel that this personal connection with God and cultivating relationship with God is the ultimate goal. God desires to know each one of us in the most special intimate way. The Bible says we have no need for any man to teach you. 1John 2:27 But God teaches you all things. I think there is a primary example of this in 1Samuel 8:6-7 But the thing displeased Samuel when they said give us a King over us to rule us. And Samuel prayed unto the Lord. And the Lord said unto Samuel hearken unto the voice of the people in all they have said unto thee: for they have not rejected thee: but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. This is an example of what you are saying.

The people in 1 Samuel did not seek after God on a personal level, instead they looked for a man to rule them. I also believe what you are talking about is the primary reason why the Bible says in Mathew 23:8-11 not to call anyone Rabbi:for one is your master, even Christ: and you are all brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth for one is your father in Heaven. Neither be called masters for one is your master even Christ. I think this is sorta even talking about the term Pastor. Anyhow I believe that if you have to depend on someone else to have a relationship with God then you will miss out on the thrill and excitement of letting the Holy Spirit and God's close companionship be your guide. Its ok to have people who are ministers because God said he placed different leaders in the Church but when it comes down to it is between the people and God. I feel if you have an independent relationship with God you can see alot of wondrous and marvelous things you could not see.

Just wondering if there is any way of publishing a written transcript of the podcasts for us "visual learners" I take things in much better reading than listening. Only if there would be others interested;I wouldn't ask for just one person.
