Mike Rowe is the guy you were trying to think of from Dirty Jobs. He's my favorite!!

I always had a tough time with those women-are-second-class-citizens verses. When I asked about it there was always an explanation about why it didn't really mean exactly what it said (even though they take everything ELSE exactly as it says) and it was really all about "roles." Yet these same people will tear apart those that take the same manner of interpretation with the "gay" verses, accusing them of trying to make it say what they want it to say. So the message is that it's ok to read into some verses to make it fit, but not others.

It's Patrick Warburton from Rules of Engagement. "I wanted a dog and she wanted a cat, so we compromised, and got a cat." Too funny... (and true)

It has always been obvious to me that these verses were Pauls opinions, not Gods. Not only have many raised the bible to godly status, but they have also raised Paul to godly status.

So many great points made! Thanks for the RN in action scenario Faith- pretty darn good rapid fire word picture! There are at least 10 other things you could have thrown in there if you could have just talked a little faster :)

I think the word "calling" has become so confusing to many and misused/overused...instead I'm thinking of each individual's unique passions and talents...if this could be encouraged and drawn out- rather than looking at "members" as workers to complete agendas- what a beautiful church we could become! Great talk. I put that book on my Amazon wish list- sounds really interesting.

I was listening to pod going to sleep last night and heard that AD and Darin (maybe) coming to Australia. Guys, you have to come to Brisbane, only two hours drive from my place and my sister lives there. Any other Aussies, let's get Darin to Oz. We could surely get 20 people to put in $50 each to help with costs for Darin.
