Re: Podcast Discussion: The Rules of Divorce

This was powerful for me. I am in the midst of a separation and probable divorce right now. It is a very difficult process and most Christians don't begin to understand. Staying in an awful marriage because you think it's what God wants is such a prison. It is so hard, but I felt like finally someon...

It must be so hard on all of them. I continue to pray for them. Darin and his family are such a gift to us all.

That is beautiful, thank-you.

I remember that line from "The Stand." One of my favorite things on TV ever. It still makes me cry.

Re: Atheism

Two of my sons are agnostic, the other is questioning. None of us can fit in the evangelical box any more. I don't understand not believing in the spiritual world, beyond what we can understand, but I don't worry about them. They believe in goodness, in the golden rule, that's what really matters.

Thanks for the link dward. I've only begun reading it, but I love it. "Do not wonder that I promise to fill it with those Truths you love but know not ; for though it be a maxim in the schools that there is no Love of a thing unhnown, yet I have found that things unknown have a secret influence...

Re: To: Darin and Angie

Darin and Angie, I've been so glad to have your podcasts and books to help me know that I'm not crazy, or maybe it's just that there are other people as crazy as me. It's been an incredible time of growth for me, and hearing your voice in my head as I go on my early morning walks is a big part of th...

Re: Starting our own traditions

I went back to a church I had formerly attended with one of my sons for Christmas Eve. It was actually rather silly, with skits of conversations between the angels. I remember that the pastor loved that sort of thing. It was nice to sing the carols. A few people said hello, they were very kind actua...

Re: YouTube Favourites

I remember a few years ago, I heard this song and felt the power of God's love. I didn't completely understand then, I think I see it a little better now. He will find us, he will stop at nothing, no cost is too great...

Re: Loving a child who self-injures

That makes a lot of sense. I know that once I stopped trying to tell my kids how they should feel, it improved our relationship. Perfect love does cast out fear.
