Re: when the journey tests your very life

Hi Free, thank you so much for writing back. I will PM you with the email where funds can be sent via paypal. Anita is still having a terrible battle. Things just keep going wrong. They have had temporary help from some people, that was well, temporarily helpful, or else came with a hidden price tag...

when the journey tests your very life

Hi everyone, By now most of you probably don't know me, I have not been here in some time. I am writing on behalf of Anita d'Ambrosie, whom more of you may remember as an active member of this forum more recently than I was. She is a free believer with one of the biggest hearts you ever saw. Long st...

Re: *** Prayers needed for Darin ***

Thank you for the details you have posted, Aida. It's good to know he's making progress despite this still being very serious. Does Angie have someone there with her? I now know that Amy and Robert are en route to Washington, and wasn't Aimee Dasselle about to leave to go to Australia? I feel as bad...

northeast TX

Hi everyone, I'm not on the forum much anymore, but just thought I'd update and put out a new post. Still hoping to connect with others in the northeast TX area. Families with kids would be particularly nice. :)

Re: Thoughts about Christmas

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this topic everyone. I have had a chance to read and think about this. I heartily agree that the expectations of a Norman Rockwell Christmas put way too much stress on people. And as Mrs r.c. says, it can really depend on where your life is at how you feel about i...

Re: New Book review..

Hi everyone :) A few days finally to have a little down time and pop in. I am in a place where I just can't read any theology/"God is like this" books. Even good, grace filled ones. Instead I'm always on the lookout for really good fiction reads. Incidentally, I would recommend "The H...

Re: What is everyone doing over Thanksgiving?

Aida, I agree, if you enjoy being together, any way you can work it out is a blessing :) This will be the first time I have ever spent Thanksgiving with friends. I am so excited I can hardly wait. Usually, Thanksgiving is a rather uninspiring occasion for me, sorry but when you spend year after year...

Re: good reading material for teens?

Thanks Joshquinn. Any reading recommendations are appreciated! Yes, sometimes just plain fun is good too. I'm trying to remember some good satires... I know there were a couple thrown into my mostly extremely uninspiring English required curricula in high school.

Re: good reading material for teens?

I think any fiction book worth reading has God sightings in it, although that can look so many different ways. Fiction is their preferred reading. They like adventure/fantasy of almost any sort, if the author is a good writer. They've read all the LOTR, many of the Star Wars, several of Paul Coehlo'...

good reading material for teens?

I am looking for some good reading material for my teen sons, 16 and 17. I am hoping to find some books that are really rich with God sightings. Not necessarily books written just for youth, I find that a lot of those are too "young" for them. They are also about the same place I am with o...

Re: getting older scares the sh... out of me

Sarah, I sympathize. I'm in my 40's now, and I think I'm starting early menopause. :? Truthfully, though I am glad to be out of my 20's and 30's. I'm finally learning some things that I simply didn't or couldn't learn then, and these things have made my life better. :) Sure there are still things I ...

Re: Crazy Prosperity Preaching

I think people fall for this often, because of fear of abandonment. In this culture, so many people feel alone. They feel that all they have to depend on is what's in the bank, and what their money has bought. Understandable, in a culture where real community has all but disappeared, and when push c...

Re: Family

Another thought, the attitude of "they are not family" if they don't agree with our agenda and are difficult to be in relationship with... this is how denominationalism got started. In and of itself, different groups of different flavors are good, God's church is diverse. But when we take ...

Val, are you aware of the Porpoise Diving Life ministry? (Bill Dahl). Interesting alternative to the purpose driven stuff, you might check them out. porpoisedivinglife.com
