Re: Podcast Discussion: The Rules of Divorce

Thanks, Mr. Eagle77, for going to such lengths and taking the time to post to such an awkward and stigmatic thread. I was checking this several times a day thinking to myself: Woah, I win for over-sharing, nobody wants to touch this- it's radioactive! The thought has crossed my mind, do I really wan...

Re: Podcast Discussion: The Rules of Divorce

Hi. It's been a while. I wouldn't be bumping up an old thread without a good reason. When this podcast first hit, I smugly thought i knew my wife's heart. Now, life for me is being lived from a bitter pit of awareness I was the guy in the podcast who didn't. (Eva ended our marriage 2 months shy of 9...

Re: Happy birthday, resurrectedroadkill!

OK, update on all that: Eva is the queen of deciding one thing and then changing her mind, but there's more factors than that. (I'm speaking about moving to Portland to be close to Eva's sister as opposed to staying where we are now.) So we're currently looking into buying into an "intentional ...

Re: Podcast Discussion: Peter Pan Christianity

I might have thrown in the towel for a while now on the whole idea of a conscious "conversation" with God, rather opting for a desire to see God operate in my life (in a subliminal way) without my even thinking about it or trying. It's been working out questionably. I wonder if I'm just li...

Re: Happy birthday, resurrectedroadkill!

Thanks Aida! It's great to still be alive in spite of how life can be so dang challenging. I got to spend my birthday down in the Portland area, in Gresham, Oregon- at my sister-in-laws. It was fun having Thanksgiving with sweet potato casserole and other vegan dishes instead of anything with meat. ...

Re: Washington State

Hi- My wife & myself & 2 kids are in Mukilteo, WA. We've been alone in the big world for maybe almost 5 years now without much progress in the way of building relationships outside of the IC, save her work comrads. I'm hoping if there's any free believers within an hour or so of us it would ...

Re: So do you just walk away

Wow Trish! Good for you with the farming and promoting that awesome documentary "Food Inc"!! I discovered it a few years ago and it's been a journey for my wife and myself to forsake the Wendy's's cheap-o burgers & go organic & local and now we have even given up dairy and meat! Ev...

Re: The Misunderstood God book review

I'm sorry but no matter how you slice it, you'll never get away from the fact that the Bible is written by man. It was meant to lead us to God, as well if you had no Bible but loved people you would be demonstrating the Bible within yourself. Any body who loves is of God. Loves true expression is in...

Re: The Misunderstood God book review

This person was a head-thinker, not even pausing for a moment in check their heart and think for themselves with the heart God gave them. The person sounds like a robot, not having a brain or even artificial intelligence (that would have a dim bulb of having the smallest ability to learn). It was as...

Re: Podcast Discussion: Helpful Adversity

I'm listening to this podcast now . . I've been so busy with my 2 small children & not getting much done beyond keeping diapers changed & cooking tough-crusted pizzas. I really identify with the ideas Aida & Darin presented about creating our own adversity ourselves , and it not coming a...

Re: The gift (?) of adversity

Thanks, teresap, & I accept hugs. Kindness is always welcome. I don't doubt God's love, & I believe Ze's happy with me. (I mention Ze here, not to get off topic, but because my wife always points out that God is not a he, nor a she, therefore a ze (introduction of a new development of the En...

Re: Does God Really Test Us?

No I think. Why would a loving father purposely give additional problems to his children whom he loves? That wouldn't be love so that's not the real God.

Re: The gift (?) of adversity

I must be at a point where all the adversity in my life I've ever faced has only produced feelings in me of isolation, & that I've only become jaded & skeptical from it rather than improvement. I think my insecurities have debilitated me.

Re: Podcast Discussion: God on Trial

Hi everyone. Am I way off in assuming Mr Bull gets flack for his supposed 'attitude' when he writes or asks questions? Personally, knowing I'm a lazy poster, & that I don't take this forum posting stuff all too seriously, I want to extend grace to everyone enough to err on the side of being over...
